Primary

Today is primary day in Ohio. I voted (issues only because I won't declare a party) on four different tax levies. The big one was a property tax levy for school funding. It is among 187 property tax levies on ballots across the State to fund local school districts.
March 27, 1997, Ohio Supreme Court decision where the court ruled, by a 4-3 vote, that Ohio’s school funding system was unconstitutional. The court allowed the state one year to craft a new funding system.

Make note of that date. 1997. It has been nearly a decade and our legislators cannot get their heads out of their lobbyists' asses long enough to come up with a constitutional and fair alternative.
So today, I had the dubious pleasure of being asked to voluntarily increase my property tax to help fund Punkin's education.
