Weather vacuum

I live in a weather vacuum. At my office today which is a mere 9 miles due East of my home, it poured. The proverbial cats and dogs. Whipping winds downed trees. Inches of rain fell in minutes. Hail. Lighting. Thunder. The whole nine yards. At my house: nada. I had to water the annuals and replenish the birdbath after work today while the freeway nearby looked like a river.
