Inconsistancy

I wonder if Kay Bailey Hutchinson speaks for her fellow Republicans when, regarding the current investigation into what is being called Plamegate, she says,

"[I]f there is going to be an indictment that says something happened, that it is an indictment on a crime and not some perjury technicality where they couldn't indict on the crime and so they go to something just to show that their two years of investigation was not a waste of time and taxpayer dollars."

I can't recall a single Republican who felt that Ken Lay had wasted time or taxes when a "perjury technicality" was the only thing they could pin on the previous administration.
