Peanutbutter and Jellyfish

In the Pollyanna tradition of "when the world gives you lemons, make lemonade," the fishermen of coastal Japan are battling a smack (a group of jellyfish really is called a smack) of Echizen kurage jellyfish that invaded their fishing grounds:
"Students in Obama have managed to turn them into tofu, and jellyfish collagen is reported to be beneficial to the skin."
"Seaside communities in Japan have tried to capitalize on the menace by developing novel jellyfish dishes from tofu to icecream, but for some reason the recipes have failed to take off." -Hmmm, I wonder why?

This story is cool on so many levels. Not the least of which is the size of these things.

Update: After extensive searching, I found this recipe for those of you who want to help out with the crisis in Japan. Although, you'll notice the ingredients call for "prepared shredded jellyfish" and I'm not entirely sure where to get those.
