We are not going to reduce our dependence on oil, foreign or domestic, by reducing the price of gasoline. And releasing a ½-day's worth of petroleum reserves is not going to make any impact on the price at the pump. The administration can contend that Democrats are playing politics with oil, but the Republicans seem to have cornered the market on meaningless gestures.
