Steam

I’ve been working up to a boil. My agitation with the Chimp-in-Chief and his Puppetmaster has become so great that in order to function, I have to keep a lid on it all. That said, some steam is invariably gonna escape.

This week’s steam is not just the Scooter Libby “guilty” revelation that –My God!—the president and vice president might have lied to us! *gasp*, but more importantly, the ugly stomach-churning hypocrisy of an administration that purports to be pro-military while at the same time sends that military into harm’s way without enough protection, training or strategic support only to follow up that colossal failure with inadequate medical care once the inevitable occurs.
Now that they’ve been caught at the neglect on our home turf with pictures and video no less, a general gets fired and Dubya trots out everyone’s favorite Republican war hero and Viagra posterboy to team up with Donna “look! I’m bipartisan too” Shalala to investigate the medical “care” to which our returning troops have been subjected.

So in light of how truthful they’ve been with us in the past, it’s oh-so-believable that in nearly 4 years of war, they are just now noticing that –hey, things aren’t so great there at the premier military hospital in the country-- When did that happen? And it’s oh-so-believable that the “commission will bring forth the truth” when the entire administration’s only acquaintance with the truth has been that thing they shove into the closet when the American people start asking questions.
