We're not sharing

How stupid to we sound to the rest of the world when we say to Iran, "you can't have nuclear weapons and we'll use our nuclear weapons to stop you."

Don't get me wrong, I'm not in the "let all the whack-jobs have weapons" school of diplomacy at all. In fact, I'd like for no one to have nuclear (or, as Dubya says, nuke-u-ler) weapons. But to threaten to use nuclear weapons in order to prevent a sovereign nation who dislikes us from acquiring them seems to be the ultimate version of the schoolyard bully.
