In the past, I have been vaguely amused (in a smugly superior way) by the "Miss ---" pageants that pepper the floundering networks.
But now I have a teenaged daughter and that has changed my perspective. Now I'm horrified.
Miss Teen USA is the latest to be showing their wares and these girls are my daughter's age! I can't imagine any parent allowing her child to prostitute herself in this way. They are still in high schools for crissake! In fact, of the 51 contestants, 12 of them are young enough to be, legally, jailbait. They are 16- and 15- years-old.
Shouldn't there be some sort of outrage over this or do breasts trump morality?
dumb question. Of course they do.
