Today we honor a man who did his best to overcome the ignorance and arrogance of white men (and women). It would be nice to be able to note here that he succeeded, but it seems that is not the case.
We, as a nation, are still more likely to categorize a person by the color of his skin than by the content of his character. And anyone who tells you that is not a true generality in this country is lying.
