For breakfast today, I had gjetost.
I will admit that this brown semi-hard goat cheese is something of an acquired taste, but I was raised on it, so I acquired it early. In fact you would be hard-pressed to find a Norwegian who wasn't raised on gjetost. It is the Scandanavian version of peanut butter. It is so popular that a Norwegian invented a cheese slicer specifically for gjetost.
It's difficult to find, but if you do, try it. You may be impressed.

This brings back memories ! I had some of this cheese on a school trip to Norway in 1953, and very nice it was too. Wish I could get it in the UK. Visit my blog - "I Like Cheese" - at http://dave1937.blogspot.com
