I know it's some sort of National Holiday or something, but aside from the fact that I don't have to work today, and that it's Punkinhead's birthday, I do feel an obligation to pursue my regular installment of Friday Book Blogging. I returned 10 books to the library this week, but one of them I didn't read. Of the nine (which were all frivolous summer-trash "beach" books) I liked Nancy Bush's Ultra Violet the best.
Third in a series which features PI-in-training Jane Kelly and her personality-deficient pug Binky, this book straddles the line between corny romance and cheesy mystery. (Or is that cheesy romance and corny mystery?) It may never win praise from proper literati --let's face it, most of what I read is hardly Literature, with a capital L-- but it was a fun read and Jane is extremely likable despite (or because of) all her idiosyncrasies.

well, happy birthday to Punkinhead! My aunt was also born on the forth of July in 1902, she lived to the age of 93! She said that when she was a child she thought all the parades and fireworks were for her birthday.
We used to tell Punkin the same thing! Cheap gift. lol It stopped working right around kindergarten....
