You'd have to be living in a cave in the Pyrenees to not know there's a big debate tonight.
To be honest, I'm kinda nervous for Joe. He's a pretty smart and errudite guy most of the time, but he also has a habit of not thinking before some stuff spills out of his mouth (usually escaping around the foot that's jammed in there at the same time).
As an aggressive legislator for 36 years, he can easily --very easily-- come across as too aggressive, to the point of antagonism against poor Mrs. Palin. And while I wouldn't mind a bit seeing the hockey-mom/pit bull come up against someone with real teeth, I know that's not gonna "play in Peoria" as they say.
I checked out the format of this debate and it seems to be set up as a question/short answer almost-interview, which, judging from past interviews might (and I mean might) favor Biden. I think the less he directly engages Palin, the better. But the less he rambles, which he has a tendency to do, the better as well.
While expectations are unbelievably low for Palin, they are so low that any mistake Biden makes will make the debate his for the losing. Most news articles I've read make a point of noting that the vice presidential debates in the past have had pretty much no impact on the actual election. I can only hope that's the case in the event of a Biden loss. And pray it's not the case in the event of a Palin loss. Because, unless she's been putting on an act for the past month or so, this woman is the scariest vice presidential candidate since Spiro Agnew.

What did you think after the debate? I thought Biden avoided any pitfalls.
I can't honestly answer your question, Sue, because I'm at the point now where if I hear her voice, I run screaming from the room. My dislike of Mrs. Palin has completely clouded my judgement.
