After spending a long weekend doing nothing but yardwork, I have only four books in this week's cache. The winner is Anne Perry's newest in the Inspector Monk (not the one from TV) series, Execution Dock.
Not only does Perry write a satisfyingly twisted story, she manages to imbue it with the feel of mid-nineteenth century London. You can almost smell the docks on the Thames. (And I mean that in a good way.)
