Comeback

Every year I drag our big pot of lantana indoors for winter. Every spring I drag it back out. Usually it looks so pathetically scraggly that I'm half-embarassed to claim it as a gardening success. By July it will have filled out and begun flowering. This year it was much more obliging.

It's hard for me to think of this beauty, much-beloved by the hummingbirds and butterflies, as invasive in more tropical climes. --"One man's trash..."
