Due to the fact that I did something very nasty to the muscles in my neck which necessitated me reclined at home on prescription drugs, I got in an extra book or two for a total of eight this week. My top pick is a new-to-me author, Jill Paton Walsh whose collaborations with Dorothy L. Sayers I'd read, but none of her own work had made its way into my book bag.
I picked up Debts of Dishonour featuring Walsh's amateur sleuth, Imogen Quy (rhymes with why) who is a nurse at St. Agatha's college, Cambridge. The characters are fresh and properly sketched, the storyline is appropriately convoluted, the solution is satisfying, all in the best tradition of British mysteries.
