Of the five books I read this week, I had a hard time deciding. A second helping of Susanne Alleyn's fictional hero, Aristide Ravel in a Treasury of Regrets was very good, but in the end lost the top spot to Katarina Mazetti's Benny & Shrimp.
Contrary to its content, this book seems to be marketed as "chick lit." Instead it's the quirky, impossibly possible relationship of two 30-something people who are decidedly odd and set in their very different ways. The chapters alternate between Benny and Desiree (Shrimp). And this is one couple that no amount of counselling can help, yet you cheer them on page after page.
