Delphinium redux

Last year, I posted on my 83 inch delphinium. This year she's outdone herself: 7 feet 4 inches, the tallest spire in the bunch. And I have photographic evidence. (The railing in this picture is about 5 feet off the ground.)

Wikipedia says the name delphinium comes from "the Latin for dolphin, alluding to the shape of the opening flower." I've not seen evidence of a dolphin shape in the buds at all. I always associated the name with Delft because of the color. It's common name, larkspur, refers to the spur at the back of each bloom.
