Friday Book Blogging

Yet another six book week this week. The clear winner was N.M. Kelby's Murder at the Bad Girl's Bar and Grill which is so deliciously absurd and ridiculously charactered that its moments of poignancy are more magical. The mystery is secondary to the characters which range from a "retired" B-movie horror queen to a greedy real estate developer who develops wine pairings for snack foods to a Scottish puppeteer with vestigal wings on his lower back. As bizarre as the whole thing sounds, the story sings. This is a perfect quirky summertime read.
