Oldest

Try to wrap your head around this. When Walter Breuning was born, there were only 45 States. Queen Victoria was on the throne of England. Grover Cleveland was president. No one had ever heard of a World War. Or a Model T. Or Dracula. Or a television. Penicillin was 30 years in the future.

When I was born you had to watch TV shows when they were on.

When the telephone rang, you didn't know who was calling until you answered.

When people wrote down the stupid things they thought about every day, they put them in diaries and didn't let anyone read them.
