Strange places

Writer-photographer Ransom Riggs came to my attention on the mental_floss blog. Among other things, he had a long-running, absolutely fascinating series called Strange Geographies. These photo essays find beauty in the most unlikely places. And in doing so, make us appreciate those unlikely places.
Much of what he does is urban exploring, slipping into abandoned buildings and recording their decay. But he's also done some slightly off-beat travel photos.

The images in each one of his posts is haunting, and while you know you're looking at garbage, at the same time it's also art. Mother Nature's reclamation art.
