I don't know exactly what the "mission" was in either Afghanistan or Iraq, but if it was fledgling democracy and Osama bin Ladin's death, I think we're through there.
It would have been nice, therefore, to be celebrating a timeline for the withdrawal of ALL U.S. troops in those countries, but I am willing to settle for this.
"Under the current White House plan, some 70,000 troops will remain in Afghanistan and Iraq at the end of next summer, compared to the 180,000 in in both countries right now." If my math is okay, that's 110,000 soldiers coming home in the next year. Yay!
