love and marriage

I didn't post yesterday about the legalization of gay marriage in New York because I was torn between happiness at seeing this right afforded any couple who wishes it, and frustration at the fact that only six states have seen fit to acknowledge the fact that any couple who wants to marry should be able to.
As you have noticed life as we know it has not ceased to exist in Connecticut, Iowa, Massachusetts, New Hampshire, or Vermont. Nor will it do so in New York.
The blind prejudice against allowing same-sex couples to marry is as disgusting and archaic as earlier laws against interracial marriage. Discriminating against someone because of the gender of the person they love is despicable.

So, the rest of you 44 States: what the hell are you waiting for?!??!
