Friday Book Blogging

I am woefully behind again this week with only four books to show for my meager efforts. I'm going to tip Alexander McCall Smith's Corduroy Mansions this week because it was charming. And because I've been so disappointed with his previous works (that everyone and her hairdresser recommends), when I finally found myself enjoying William especially and of course Freddie the vegetarian terrier, I knew it had to be my pick of the week. The story is quirky and wonderful in the way that all of McCall Smith's books allegedly are. This is the first one that I have experienced the wonder and not felt condescended to. If you like his Ladies' Detective stories or his more odd Portuguese Irregular Verbs, you will love Corduroy Mansions.
