I have never been to Vegas. Nor Atlantic City. In fact, the closest I've come to a casino of any kind is the one time my mother-in-law took me to bingo at the church hall. This is not because I have an aversion to gambling or gamblers. I don't think gambling is morally reprehensible. (Heck, I do it daily with my retirement fund the way the market's been.)
It's just that if, by chance, I had $1000.00 to spend on a weekend getaway, it would not involve the prospect of losing that $1000.00. It's that old saying "a bird in the hand is worth two in the bush."
I'm just too cheap to gamble. I did have a really good time at $20 Bingo Night, though!
