To me, nothing matches a perfect summer day like a good gin and tonic: ice cold, a bit of fizz, the snappy twist of lime complimenting the refreshing juniper undertones in a quality gin. (I like Tanqueray.) It just screams summer to me, and whispers it, and chants it. Actually I'll drink any gin cocktail on ice in the summer.
Oddly though, I never have gin in the winter. It's not a winter beverage to me. Vodka, Kahlua, bourbon, brandy, rum I'll drink any time of year, but I can't enjoy a g&t if it's not warm outside. And I'm running out of time! All too soon I'll be drinking Black Russians or Jack and Cokes.
