Mixed marriage

Are you a white light or colored light person?
 I am a white light person who married a colored light person. Every Christmas we had the white/color argument and every year I won.
So, three years ago when we decorated the living room for Christmas for the first time since the remodel, I conceded a little bit of ground. Our living room is pink and brown with orange accents. (I know; you're thinking OH MY GOD THE HORROR! but really it works remarkably well, and I love it.) In honor of the new color scheme, I unbent so far as to add a string of hot pink and a string of orange lights to the tree. I'm still getting used to them, but I think this works for us. It's not the flashing multicolored extravaganza my Long-suffering Husband grew up with, but it's not the yawn-inducing generic white-lit red-ornamented tree of my childhood.
It's OUR tree.
