A happy sad event

It's sad that funerals are usually the place where you get to see a whole bunch of people you haven't seen in ages.
And that you all say to each other, "We'll have to get together soon."
And then you don't.
Why is that? I mean, I'm not really busy. Sure, from 8 to 5, on week days, but after that? Not so much. And weekends? Pretty much free. I can't imagine that I'm that much less occupied than most of my friends. Even the ones with little kids (poor them!) don't have that much going on (except during soccer season).
Yet, every time it's just another funeral that brings us together again.
