A trip north

The ice cream shop was open today. I saw just one guy inside. It was 18°F outside.
This cold weather has one benefit, it creates some amazing natural ice sculptures especially as evidenced in Wisconsin on Lake Superior. Apostle Islands National Lakeshore in Bayfield, Wisconsin, is home to "sea caves." Although to be fair to Lake Superior, I suppose we should call them lake caves. With the frigid temperatures, the lake has frozen around the island and created some stunning icicle works. (They're pretty gorgeous in the summer too.)

And thankfully some intrepid photographer was good enough to brave the cold and take these pics.
