The old standby

Your eyes do not deceive you. It has been five whole days since I posted here. Not even a Friday Saturday Book Blog. I have no reasonable excuse. The annoying chest cold is just that: an annoyance. It certainly can't be invoked to pardon my slacking.
This morning we woke up to an additional five inches of snow. Surprisingly, Mother Nature obliged us by warming up to 36 degrees so much of the 16 inches on the ground melted. I can't remember the last time we had so much snow. Apparently (according to the official record-keepers) this is because I have a terrible memory since just five years ago we topped out at over 70" of the white stuff.
All this is by way of saying, if nothing else, I could talk about the weather.
