I don't know what I was thinking missing a THURSDAY post. (Friday Book Blog, sure, but Thursday? That never happens!) My only excuse is that I was out doing the trendy #GNO (that's Girls Night Out) for you tragically unhip), and came in late. Admittedly that's not much of an excuse, but it's all I've got.
A note about GNOs (GNsO?) nowadays: People of a certain age (mine) can remember a time when "ladies night" meant the bar would be crawling with guys, many of them creepers and worse, and we would spend a GNO fending off unwanted attention. Our GNO, courtesy of Chef Rocco Whalen at his Fahrenheit restaurant, was truly for ladies only. The only males there were working.
