Norwegian practicality

I love this story of a man who found a meteorite in his back yard. It apparently crashed to Earth in the middle of the night there leaving a crater nearly a foot deep.

The man comments: "What if it had hit our house? It would have gone right through the roof. I wonder whether our insurance would have covered it."

That's right. No need to be concerned about the PEOPLE in the house, just how much it might cost to fix the potential imagined damages.

This is the Norwegian practicality with which I was raised.

Update: This may also be an example of the gullibility with which I was raised.

You musn't forget that he'll also have to find a practical use for that meteorite . . . after all, we've so many rocks in our yards to begin with, what's one more! :)
