Sound and Fury, signifying nothing

I heard a while back that people are referring to Barak Obama as the "black Ronald Reagan." In fact, I even googled a few articles that do use that epithet. He seems to have no problem with this. And his wins in the "Potomac primaries" yesterday indicate that thousands of voters think the "black Ronald Reagan" is just a grand thing to be.
But I keep thinking of how the white Ronald Reagan seemed to be a turning point for America. A turning point in the wrong direction. Reagan began the current era of oligarchy in which the United States finds itself.
I'm seeing articles that tout the magnetic personality of Obama, the hope, the promises. The rhetoric is nauseating. But then all the campaign rhetoric is.
Call me cynical, but I don't want hope in the White House. For pete's sake! I want a ball-buster. I want a bitchy-ass politician who knows which ass to kiss and which twit to kick in order to put things right in this country. I'm not getting the sense from Mr. Hope and Change that he can do that.

Then again, I'm also cynical enough to know that having any amount of faith in the electorate of this country is doomed to disappointment.

It's the "smoke-filled room" of the 21st century. If I were they, I'd start soliciting vacation timeshares and travel vouchers.
