At any rate, Banksy, who is as yet anonymous, must be pleased. He has stated, through his representatives, that he "prefers street work to remain in situ... ." So from his website here's one of my favorites:

Define art
Here in the States not too many have heard of graffiti artist "Banksy" who is making headlines now by refusing to authenticate five chunks of buildings that were to be auctioned last weekend. The sales did not go through due to what the auction house termed as "economic reasons." (Hmmm. Is there some sort of economic difficulty right now?)

This is Banned Book Week.
How Funky! He's got this kinda tragic/funny/weird thing going on in most of his work....I think I like it.
