So, I feel a need to spew forth on Senator McCain's choice of running-mate for the forthcoming election.
Is he so staggeringly stupid as to think that millions of women will vote for him just because he's selected a woman to be (as they say) "a heartbeat from the presidency"?
I've made no secret here that I liked Hillary for the presidency. One of the reasons was that she is a woman. But that was just ONE of the reasons. It's as if McCain believes that everyone with ovaries will be enthralled with the GOP because they've got a set on the ticket and the Democrats don't.
Frankly, Mrs. Palin hasn't proven herself at running much of anything let alone our nation. Jeez, she hasn't even proven herself a competent parent.

The fact that she favors abstinence-only sex ed while being the mother of a pregnant teen does make one's jaw drop in amazement.
Did you also know that her eldest child was born 8 months after her wedding? Not terribly unusual, but it doesn't seem to support an abstinence-only lifestyle of her own.
I am suddenly reminded of a joke from my childhood, when the primary method of birth control used by Catholics was the rhythm method. "What do you call a couple who uses the rythm method? Parents."
New joke: "What do you call parents who teach abstinence-only to their teens? Grandparents."
