What with the holiday and the last-minute things that entails, I was only able to get four books read this week. My favorite was Marie Phillips' gods behaving badly. She re-imagines the inhabitants of Mount Olympus into a dingy flat in London. And, as Jim is wont to say, "wacky highjinks ensue."
The salvation of the planet is in the hands of two very ordinary mortals when Apollo and his siblings, aunt, father, etc. run amok with whatever powers they've managed to hang onto after years of being relegated to a brief few weeks of study during a Classical Literature course that you had to take in order to graduate. The modernization of the gods we learned about is full of wit, and the "mortal" characters are charmingly naive.

Sounds like a Kevin Smith movie waiting to happen.
