Braingle's word of the day yesterday was pundit, which it defined, "noun :: One who gives opinions in an authoritative manner."
How different from its origin, "from Hindi payndit 'a learned man, master, teacher.'"
We no longer value wisdom and learning. Now all one needs is an authoritative manner.
