It may say September on the calendar, but this week was unbearably sticky hot! I did manage, between the iced tea and searching for a breeze, to read four books. The best was Peter Mayle's latest,
The Vintage Caper. This is a lighthearted (of course, Mayle's books all seem to be) follow-that-wine whodunnit. Also integral to his works, much is made of the food, wine and countryside. Fun and hunger-inducing.
