I have an intolerance of intolerance. And NO, I don't see anything hypocritical about that.
I don't think it's closed-minded of me to find other people's bigotry intolerable. Bigots always like to try that "turn the tables" trick: how can you be so open to other view points while completely discounting mine? Because yours is wrong, you ignorant jerk.
Having a belief that deliberately denigrates your fellow human beings is wrong. And I will not be a wishy-washy bleeding-heart liberal who lets a blowhard bigot convince me that I'm not being open enough.
So the next time some one argues that you are oppressing them because you find their hatred of [insert minority here] intolerable, you might want to suggest that they're missing the point. What kind of dick whines when their bigotry and hatred is called out by someone who preaches acceptance, tolerance and love?
