Moving out

Crazy shopping. Crazy Koreans. Crazy leaks. Crazy long weekend. A whole turkey stuffed with cray-cray. We've got to stop doing this. Aside from the hundreds of thousands of leaked documents, the unstable North/South Korean flare up, the millions of dollars that our already fantastically wealthy corporations raked in, this weekend included for me helping my husband move out.
Don't get the wrong idea, we are still happily married. But the job market in Ohio is so bad that he was unable to support us in the manner to which we have become accustomed (ie. food, clothing, shelter) unless he accepted a job in Rochester, New York. So now my husband lives 5 hours away. He starts his new job today. He left yesterday.
He's been away for weeks in the past on jobs, so this isn't new. I guess what makes it so much harder this time is that I know he's signed a lease. We have a house in Ohio and a small 1-bedroom studio in New York. That makes it permanent in a way that his business trips never have been before.
I should be thankful that he found an engineering job in this market. And I am. I just wish it were here. Until he comes back, I'll hold down the fort here at the Punkinhouse. And keep plodding away at my job.

Rochester is only about 90 miles from Syracuse. You can go to the NY State fair in late August/early September. It's a great fair.
