Friday Book Blogging

This week, at the suggestion of a friend, I read a brand new book. It's so new that you can't even buy it until March 8. So, if you like fast-paced, extremely well-plotted thrillers, place your orders for Taylor Stevens' The Informationist.
Vanessa Michael Munroe is a uniquely female version of all the action heroes you've ever loved. And despite the fact that it is a typical thriller with barely survivable scenarios playing out multiple times and hairs' breadth escapes from death peppered throughout, it rises above cookie-cutout by introducing an element of creativity in its heroine and the storyline.
Aside from the fact that I do not like thrillers (and all those scrapes with near-death experiences), I found the sheer quantity of betrayals in this book a bit distracting.
Still, for a first-time novelist, a very respectable effort. Certainly more than I could have achieved.
