Usually I don't post on the weekends, but this being the 10th anniversary of Nine-Eleven (in capital letters) I wanted to put forth a little bit of where I'm coming from. On this day, every year for the past 10 years, like everyone else, I remember the shock and horror of the event itself. But I also remember the fact that when that first airplane hit the World Trade Center tower we joined nearly every other country on Earth in our awareness of our vulnerability. Up until this day ten years ago, we were blissfully ignorant, fearless.
On 9/11 we became more like the rest of the world. So on this day I also remember that this one devastating attack is just part of what an entire global community has faced for decades.
