Company Clean

The second-nicest thing about having company is that the "company clean" is still around after everyone goes home.
The irony of Company Clean is that the people whose company we truly enjoy don't care if you miss a cobweb in the corner of the living room or didn't wash all the dishes in your sink.
In fact the only person who causes anxiety prior to a visit is my mother. And that is less and less as the years go by. The last time she came by, there were fuzz-balls on my rug and I didn't even care. I noticed. I'm willing to bet $1000 that she noticed. But I was all honey badger about it.
Our most recent visitor was LSH's best bud from high school who was in town for their reunion. So the walls were dusted, the furniture polished, the giant piles of clothes distributed to either their drawers or the hamper, the rugs vacuumed, and the toilet scrubbed. And he didn't care at all. Instead we had a great visit while he and LSH trotted down memory lane before they headed out to the big event.
And after a fun and low-key afternoon, I got to enjoy my Company Clean house for the rest of the weekend.
