This week, my favorite book was the third of Chris Grabenstein's Jersey Shore murder mysteries. Whack-A-Mole pits rookie cop Danny Boyle and his intense veteran partner John Ceepak against a serial killer.
Boyle and Ceepak are a great team. Ceepak, who fought in Iraq has an unshakable code of honor. Boyle has just been allowed to carry a gun; he's what the older folks call "a good kid." The story has enough twist and turns (and red herrings) to keep your attention to the end.
I chose Grabenstein's first book in the series in October. This one's a good one too, and might appeal to my male reader(s) who like their mysteries a bit grittier.
