I have surprisingly little to say about Paul Ryan as Romney's pick for vice president. Beyond the basics of how little he regards the needs and rights of women, the poor, elderly, and disadvantaged which have been documented by his extreme voting record in the House and his potentially disastrous budget, there really isn't too much to note. I suppose to me, the one big surprise was that Mitt Romney managed to find a big-name Republican who is actually more tone deaf to the mainstream of this nation than Romney is.
Take away the startling blue eyes and the desire to take the country back (not metaphorically, but literally, backward in time), and all you have is another rich white guy. Is there some sort of breeding ground for them in the upper Great Lakes that we're unaware of? Maybe we should quarantine it, because my taxes should not pay for their lowered rates, and I'm the only person who should decide what to do with my lady parts.
