Friday Book Blogging

So, I teased it a little yesterday, but today I will tell you. The best book I've read this week (and this month!) is the newest from Laurie R. King, Garment of Shadows. This is her twelfth Mary Russell/Sherlock Holmes novel. I have to admit to being very disappointed with The Pirate King (#11), but King is back to old form now.
I've been a die-hard fan since the first of the series, The Beekeeper's Apprentice. My favorite is O Jerusalem, but this newest story reprises some characters and while the setting isn't Jerusalem, it is Morocco, so the desert and Islam feature prominently again.
Treat yourself to any of King's stories featuring Mary Russell and her partner, a guy you may have heard of, called Sherlock Holmes. This is one of the most carefully crafted, lovingly executed re-imaginings of Holmes in fiction ever.
