Stuff

The pre-Thanksgiving rush has begun. We are chowing at my mom's Thursday, but I'm bringing pie. And Brussels sprouts (two of my all time favorite things), so I'm not totally off the hook for prep work.
I will be cooking a full Thanksgiving dinner at the Punkinhouse for my FIL on Saturday. We are trying a new stuffing, and NO, it's not Jim's Scottish Grandmother's Oatmeal Stuffing. It's also not my Nana's BEST STUFFING EVER, which we will be having on Thursday.
This year we'll be trying the Chestnut, Bacon, Dried Apple and Cornbread stuffing recipe I found on epicurious. I've found that my father-in-law is the perfect person to try new recipes. He'll eat anything, is suitably grateful for your effort, and then if he utters the word "delicious" at the first bite, you've got a good one. If he says nothing, delete the recipe.
I'm thankful for little things like this. I am also thankful for the big things like having the means and ability to prepare a feast and the loved ones with which to share it.
Please take time between bites of turkey and sweet potatoes this year to be grateful for what you have.

And DON'T GO SHOPPING.
