Buds

You know those potato flakes that you mix with hot water and maybe a little milk and butter to make instant mashed potatoes? The cheap, cheating way to make potatoes?
Next time you whip up a pouch, tell your family that you're doing so to honor history. Not only were those boxes marketed for the public 50 years ago (happy ½-century, instant potatoes!) but some form of reconstituted potato meal actually dates all the way back to ancient Incan times.

I'll admit it. My laziness in the kitchen is matched only by the appalling amount of trivia I bestow on the family during the meal.
