It was a light week with a clear winner this week. Charles Finch's A Death in the Small Hours, the most recent mystery featuring Charles Lenox, garnered the top spot.
Charles Lenox, MP and amateur sleuth at the mid-point in Victoria's reign, visits his uncle in a small village and dusts off his detecting skills. The story had me guessing until the end with a satisfying number of red herrings and a believable, yet creative plot.
This series had me hooked with book number one, A Beautiful Blue Death. Charles Lenox is a bit of Sherlock and a bit of Lord Peter with an endearing bit of self-consciousness.
