When traveling outside of a strict time schedule, LSH and I like to take the long way. Especially if the weather is nice. Or at least half-way decent. There are all sorts of pithy quotes paraphrasing the sentiment that focusing on the journey is superior to the arriving at the destination.
We like driving small roads through quaint towns on our way home. It makes the journey part of the vacation. But getting home is a joy too.
Sometimes it's about the journey AND the destination.
