Christmas has come and gone for another year. You may have noticed that I took a week (or so) off. I was on vacation, virtually and literally.
In my startlingly static life, we did something remarkably new this Christmas. We traveled to my sister's home near D.C. and celebrated with her and her husband.
The oddest part of the holiday was incorporating our long-standing traditions into a new place and group. And yet, thousands of families and individuals do that every year.
I'm not sure if I'm fortunate to have been able to establish Christmas traditions that are so invariable. Or if I should be ashamed that things don't change with more regularity in my life.
